To the principal of Benoth Jerusalem,

The reason that I took time out of my busy schedule is that our community, may it be in Europe, Asia or America, is very small and news travels fast, and I quickly came to hear about the article in the press.

I used to come from the USA about 15 times a year to Belgium for business purposes and I got to know the school through coworkers, business partners and others. Back home I always felt jealous that we didn’t have a school like Benoth Jerusalem, with such a good reputation and where a lot of families want to send their children to, seeing what kind of students are coming out of this school.

What the Belgian press has done would never have happened in America. Firstly, an article through an anonymous letter is illegitimate and secondly, why didn’t they send a journalist to go and see what it is about? In case this rule was followed, at least to the reader of the article this wasn’t the impression.

But the problem is bigger than what people are just reading.
The fundamental problem is that the press and others can hardly accept the existence of a  school, one out of the very few in the whole country, without drugs, abuse and related issues, instead of being proud for having such an exemplary school in Belgium!
The government supports the freedom of the press, but did they ever see an article in the Belgian press about how one should handle their old-age homes or how one should handle their patients in a hospital? No, but a school that is a model for a whole country, that’s where the press is coming to paint them black!

Take my advice and go to the European court, not to the Belgian court. They will penalize them with a large amount of money, that being the only way to stop them.

Continue that fantastic way of your school! We are all with you, Benoth Jerusalem.
